USA Archery classes are taken in two parts, an online portion and a second part with an Instructor Trainer. There may be prerequisites and/or time requirements. These are estimated times and may be exceeded as necessary.
To qualify as a USA Archery Level 1 Instructor the candidate needs to be at least fifteen years of age and successfully pass a USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Class. There is no prior experience necessary. This certification needs to be renewed every three years, and doesn’t require the retaking of the class. Note … a USA Archery Level 1 Instructor is the trainer for the BSA Archery Range-Master.
No prior archery experience is necessary but is very helpful. This certification will substitute for the BSA Archery Range-Master course and allow you to open an archery range at council camps. This will also allow you train other Scouters for their BSA Archery Range-Master card. The USA Archery certification is valid for three years and can be renewed without retaking the class again.
Experienced intermediate level archery people may attend, you must be at least 18 years of age. This course combines the Level 1 Instructor Certification with an introduction to the National Training System (NTS) Steps of Shooting for recurve and compound, equipment and accessory setup, athlete development, intermediate coaching techniques and events. These workshops are scheduled as needed.
