BSA Training Program

These courses will allow the individual the opportunity to use Scout Council range facilities to hold Pack/Den shooting activities. It will also allow the individual the ability to operate Council ranges for Cub Scout activities.

To qualify as any BSA Range Master the candidate needs to be at least eighteen years of age and attend the appropriate BSA Range Master class. There is no prior experience necessary. This certification needs to be renewed every two years by re-taking the class again.

BSA Shooting Sports Quartermaster - SSQM (4+ hours)

This course teaches you to maintain BSA Shooting Sports equipment.

BSA Archery Range Master (2+ hours)

This course teaches you to operate a BSA Archery range. It also covers safety, history, archery technique and basic maintenance. Archery Range Master is only good for Cub ranges, for Scouts BSA and above, you need a USA Archery Level 1 Instructor or better.

BSA BB Gun Range Master (3+ hours)

This course teaches you to operate a BSA BB Gun range. It also covers safety, history, beginning marksmanship and basic BB Gun maintenance.

Please Note:

Ten Ring is not a part, although we are a Charter Partner for some scouting units, of the Northern Star Council, BSA. We do have registered Scouts BSA Leaders serving as instructors. These instructors are recognized by the Northern Star Council as approved trainers of the BSA Shooting Sports activities.
